Cottonwood Pass to Mount Anna Mills 6/17/20-6/19/20
A short backpacking trip starting out near the upper gate on Horseshoe Meadows Road about 0.75 miles from the Cottonwood Pass Trailhead. I hiked over Cottowood Pass, past Chicken Spring Lake to the SEKI boundary. Shortly after crossing the SEKI boundary I dropped down to Siberian Outpost and the hiked along the Siberian Pass Creek, passing Siberian Pass along the way, until I reached the a ridge that goes up to the Boreal Plateau from Siberian Creek. I camped in the trees at the base of the ridge and in the morning I took the ridge up to the plateau and then headed toward Anna Mills crossing the saddle between Funston Lake and Forgotten Canyon along the way. The southeasterly ridge to Mount Anna Mills was a nice hike. When I returned to camp I packed up and hiked out to Chicken Spring Lake to camp for the night before heading out early on Day 3. About 33 miles and 5700' elevation gain.
