Iron Mountain 09-05-2016

A day hike to Iron Mountain in the Ritter Range. It's a long ridge. I went past my 2 pm turn around time and summited at 3 pm because I was pretty sure that I'd still be able to get back onto the trail by dark and I did. It didn't get dark until just after I got to the junction of the Granite Stairway and Fern Lake trails and from there it was an easy hike out with a headlamp. About 17 miles with 5,000' gain.
