Iron Springs and Beauty Peaks - 01/17/16

A day hike to Beauty and Iron Springs Peaks starting from Tule Peak Road, which can be reached from either Anza or Aguanga. The peaks are on BLM land. The roads are dirt and a little rough, with the drive from Anza more challening than the drive from Aguanga. Also, on the way in I encountered private property signs on some of the roads and I think I was on the California Riding and Hiking Trail for a while. Anyway, the hike to Beauty and Iron Springs Peak is much like walking through a maze as so much of the time you are wanting through forests of Red Shank and other bushes. Try to stay on the use trail as you really don't have to do any bushwacking if you do. I really enjoyed the hike - it's a really pretty area. About 9.5 miles with 2,700' elevation gain.
